Bellows Assemblies

Bellows Assemblies

With our welding and joining capabilities, we are able to design and provide many types of assemblies to fit you application.

Pressure Motors

Convert pressure effects into controlled movement or force.  Pressure may be applied inside the bellows or outside the bellows in a cup structure, the later being preferred.  The floating head is usually provided with a limit stop when overload protedtion is needed.

Aneroid Assemblies

An aneroid assembly is a pressure motor where one side of a bellows assembly is evacuated to form a constant reference against which the changing pressure on the other side is measured and used to produce predictable stroke.

Remote Transmission

Two bellows assemblies joined by a tube for hydraulic trnasmission of motion or power.  With the bellows system solid filled, liner motion of one bellows is transmitted instantly and in equal degree to remote bellows.

Thermostatic Motors

Similar to pressure motors.  Pressure supplied by a sealed fill of thermosensitive liquid or gas.  Thermal effect may be received either on the bellows element direct or at a remote bulb for transmission through flexible tubing.  Widely used to operate valves and switches in response to temperature changes.

Flexible Torque Couplings

Designed for use in aircraft, missle assemblies, etc., where miniaturization is a vital factor…or on servo-mechanisms, instruments and control systems…to eliminate backlash and afford uniform velocity.  They reduce friction wear created by misalignment of two shafts, resulting in more dependable, trouble-free instrumentation.

Flexible Joint

Provides a means to seal a flexible joint or mechanical movement of levers or linkage against leakage, where the movement must be conveyed outside enclosure.

Packless Construction

Used to seal stem movement or adjustment in many types of valves or other apparatus.

Expansion Joints

Packless and leakless contruction is used to absorb thermal expansion of pipe lines carrying steam, water, petrochecmicals, and toxic gases, or to absorb vibration or provide a felxible connection.

Expansion Chambers

This type of assembly is employed to absorb thermal or pressure expansion of fluid stock.  With suitable heads, it may be used as a reservoir for a liquid or gas.  Examples:  oil reservoir for electrcal cable joint and termal expansion compensators on oil-filled transformers.

Custom Applications

With our years of expertise and supportive manufacturing engineering group, we would be happy to provide custom assembly work for you.
